Power Rangers Wild Force news:
Isn't it exciting? 10 years of Power Rangers. In 2002 the newest Power Rangers Show and Toys will hit North America. Past seasons have focused on the Rangers weapons and armor, but this new endeavour will zoom in primarily on the power animals (Zords). The show in question? Power Ranger: 100 Beasts Task Force-Gao-Ranger currently airing in Japan; to be simply entitled Wild Force Power Rangers here in the States. The new series is described as:
"Evil Forces have unleashed monsters bent on destruction. From the depths of all that is vile, the remnants of industrial pollution, toxic waste and environmental pillaging have created sinister beings that raid the earth of its living energy. The only hope for the world is a squad of five teens, each chosen for his or her special skill and sense of adventure. The powerful group possesses the mighty Bio-Energy power that enables them to morph into the invincible Power Rangers Wild Force. At the Rangers' sides are the devoted Power Animals that descend from their habitat when the rangers need them most. These brave creatures morph into unstoppable zords... forces like any other in Power Rangers'history."
This new series has already been signed for 51 episodes in Japan and will feature a 2 PART team-up with the current series "Time Ranger" to begin October 2001-November 2001 in Nakano, Tokyo Japan. The new series also breaks new ground by ditching the cheesy (but classic) guy-dressed-up-in-a-Zord costume look for new high-tech CGI effects (read: "computerized Zords"- just like "Transformer: Beast Machines").
Japan is always ONE YEAR ahead of the US when it comes to Power Rangers. While Power Ranger: Time Force is now the next hot generation here, the series is wrapping up overseas and clearing room for the next Ranger installment "Power Ranger: 100 Beasts Task Force-Gao-Ranger". No doubt to be called simply Growl or Animal Ranger here on its release in 2002 (Gao translating roughly to Growl).
This new series has already been signed for 51 episodes and will feature a 2 PART team-up with the current series "Time Ranger" to begin October 2001-November 2001 in Nakano, Tokyo Japan. Morphing weapons, Rangers, Zords (towering robots formed from mutiple units), and intergalactic bad guys are the basic formula with the Power Ranger franchise- and this new series continues to trod the successful path- this time with an ANIMAL THEME (the Gao/Growl making sense now?:)
The core of the Rangers team will be as follows, NOT to be confused with Voltron- a past, similarily animal-themed series:
*Red Ranger: LION *White Ranger: Tiger *Black Ranger: Bull *Yellow Ranger: Eagle *Blue Ranger: Shark
The Basic Figure line up will feature all Rangers in all their multi-colored splendor. These will be offered as solo packs, a Deluxe Box Set, and with their animal counterparts as a Cycle. Difference between these and past rangers- the helmet- each of which is animialish in design.
Of course it wouldn't be Power Rangers without the aid of the massive ZORDS- so a Gao-Zord will be offered, with some add-on critters to boost the excitement and play value.
Core Zord- Gao-King- (shipping in Japan March, 6000 yen: $60) will consist of Lion (Body), Tiger (Left Arm), Bull (Legs), Eagle (Head?), and Shark (Right Arm). Zord add-ons will include a Gao-Giraffe (shipping in Japan April, 1500 yen: $15) which can be exchanged for the Right Arm (new super extending weapon) and Gao-Elephant (Shipping March, 1500 yen) which can be switched with the Left Arm (ditto- forms sword and shield).
Extra Zord allies will include a Gao-Gorilla (April), Gao-Bear (Black Bear- April), and Gao-Polar (Polar Bear- May)- which all combine to form a NEW ZORD with the core GAO-KING. Confused yet?
Enemies in this series will range from the low life scum of the universe (Basic Figures) to hidious robots (Gao-Alligator, Gao- Hammerhead Shark, etc). The Power Rangers were recently voted the top-selling male action toy brand of 2000 here in the US, and will no doubt continue into 2001 and beyond with this exciting new look and line of toys. Click over on the left hand menu for an exclusive look, along with role play items, a massive Deulxe Super Sentai Box Set depicting all 25 years of the Rangers legend, and showroom images!

Power Rangers new Video:

Quantum Ranger Revealed!! The Video that is.... 6/25
We reported earlier in May that another Power Rangers video was going to be hitting the shelves on the heels of "Force from the Future". However, this time it would feature the Quantum Ranger as the main focus. The Quantum Ranger video, or as it is now officially titled "Clash for Control" will undoubtedly feature, at the very least "Clash for Control" parts 1 & 2 and we here at TFO are assuming (since all recent-release Ranger Videos have at least 3 episodes on them) that it will also feature "Quantum Quest"
The reason for reposting this information was for two reasons. One being so we could reveal the new official title mentioned above, "Clash for Control", but also because our pal from Alt.Fan.Power-Rangers, Ryan aka Ecliptor17, has provided us with the new "official" box art for the cover of the video as well. The art posted earlier was assumed a prototype, and from the looks of this new cover - we are glad it was. In my opinion - this thing looks awesome. Click on the links below to see both the prototype (if you missed it earlier) and the official box art.

Look for this video to come your way August 28th 2001. (retail: $9.99)
